Lizzy and Elliot are using everyday leadership to help those around them by spearheading the collection of warm socks at Blacklock to be donated to the Salvation Army.
Lizzy is in Grade 3 and Elliot is in Grade 1. They are very thoughtful, and highly conscientious students. These two proactive students did a similar sock drive last year with their two classes, but during the summer break they decided they wanted to see if the whole school would donate to the sock drive.
They asked everyone in the school to please donate a pair of socks to the Salvation Army Sock Drive. They collected a very large box full of socks, and along with their mom delivered them to the Salvation Army.
Lizzy says, “When we dropped off the socks the lady there was talking to my mom about trench foot. On the drive back to school I asked my mom about that. It didn’t sound very nice to have it, and it would definitely hurt. I didn’t know how bad it could be. That would be awful. I’m even more glad I did it.”
Lizzie and Elliot we thank you for improving our world by being proactive, everyday leaders!!!!
