April 22, 2022
Happy Earth Day! Today, many of our students participated in special activites for our Earth Day celebration, where they spent time discussing ways to save our planet by reducing, reusing, and recycling. They also took time to clean up our outdoor spaces by removing litter and have begun work on our garden beds. This weekend you might consider taking the time to visit one of our local parks or walking trails to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us!
Today, your child will be bringing home a flyer for you to look over in preparation for purchases at our Scholastic Book Fair, which takes place next week. On Tuesday, students will have an opportunity during the day to visit the Fair and look over what is available. The Book Fair officially opens for purchases from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We look forward to making this Book Fair a huge success so that we can continue to purchase books for our Library.
As the weather improves, our students will be participating in Kilometre Club every Thursday morning between 9:00am and 9:45am. Please ensure that your child has proper footwear and appropriate clothing for the weather, as this time of year it can be very unpredictable. The children are excited to once again log kilometres in order to collect foot tokens. Thank you for your support as we continue to practice daily fitness and wellness.
If you ordered flowers through the Darvonda Flowers Fundraiser, they will be available for pickup after school on Friday, April 29, near the Main Entrance. We appreciate everyone’s efforts in raising funds for our Raise the Roof project.
Have a good weekend!
