Blacklock Blast – April 26

April 26, 2019

This morning it was my privilege to attend the Langley School District Speech Festival and to witness Montana B. present her speech on self-esteem.  She impressed the judges with her confidence, presentation, and the contents of her speech and was awarded the Silver Medal.  Congratulations Montana!

Please remember that tonight will be the Pub Night Fundraiser at the Townhall Public House in Langley.  It’s not too late to attend!  Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the door.  There are lots of amazing silent auction items available…..please come out and put in a bid.  Looking forward to seeing you between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

Our Grade 4s and 5s having been working hard to prepare for next week’s Phoenix Pod Show ‘Mother Earth vs. Humanity – The Trial’, taking place at 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 1, in our Gym.  Don’t forget to take time to visit our Art Gallery and the display boards throughout the hallway that highlight the artistic talents of our Phoenix Pod and showcase the learning the students have been participating in as they’ve studied the impact of humanity on the earth.

Next week on April 30 – May 2 (Tuesday-Thursday) our Library will be holding the Scholastic Bookfair from 2:45pm-4:00pm.  Parents are welcome to shop without kids from 2:00-2:45pm on all three days.  All proceeds raised through the bookfair will be going towards purchasing new books for the Library.  Thank you for your support!  Mrs. Huang and Mrs. McLean look forward to seeing you at the fair!
