This morning it was my privilege to attend the Langley School District Speech Festival and to witness Montana B. present her speech on self-esteem. She impressed the judges with her confidence, presentation, and the contents of her speech and was awarded the Silver Medal. Congratulations Montana!
Please remember that tonight will be the Pub Night Fundraiser at the Townhall Public House in Langley. It’s not too late to attend! Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the door. There are lots of amazing silent auction items available…..please come out and put in a bid. Looking forward to seeing you between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
Our Grade 4s and 5s having been working hard to prepare for next week’s Phoenix Pod Show ‘Mother Earth vs. Humanity – The Trial’, taking place at 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 1, in our Gym. Don’t forget to take time to visit our Art Gallery and the display boards throughout the hallway that highlight the artistic talents of our Phoenix Pod and showcase the learning the students have been participating in as they’ve studied the impact of humanity on the earth.
SCHOLASTIC BOOKFAIR
Next week on April 30 – May 2 (Tuesday-Thursday) our Library will be holding the Scholastic Bookfair from 2:45pm-4:00pm. Parents are welcome to shop without kids from 2:00-2:45pm on all three days. All proceeds raised through the bookfair will be going towards purchasing new books for the Library. Thank you for your support! Mrs. Huang and Mrs. McLean look forward to seeing you at the fair!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR 2019/20
Edupac order forms for September’s school supplies were sent home recently. This is an opportunity for you to get all your school supplies shopping done early and in one place! The supplies will be delivered to your child’s classroom before the end of June. Order forms were due back today, but if you still want to participate in this handy service, the last chance for you to have your order forms returned to the school is first thing on Monday morning. Extra order forms are available at the Office. MESSAGES FROM THE PAC
On Tuesday, May 7, at 9:00am the PAC will hold elections for the next school year. Please take a moment to nominate anyone that you think would be great at holding one of the executive positions. There will be nomination forms printed and available on the PAC board. Nominations are due back by 9:00am on May 6 and all individuals who are nominated will be contacted later that day to see if they’re willing to let their name stand. Voting will take place on May 7.
Please note that the White Spot Hot Lunch Day has changed from Friday, May 10 to Thursday, May 9. If you’d still like to participate, please have your orders placed by Wednesday, May 1st.
Purdy’s chocolate bars ($2 each) are still for sale in the office…..please support us in our efforts to raise funds for our school! Next week information will be coming home to parents of Grade 4/5 students to sign up for a shift to sell the chocolate bars outside a local grocery store. Please be reminded that proceeds from this fundraiser go directly towards the Grade 4/5 Victoria Field Trip.

The Langley Children’s Choir has been a part of the Langley School District for 3 decades now and it’s the time of year where they are looking for some new singers for next season.
