Blacklock Blast – April 8, 2022

April 12, 2022

  • If your children have come home this week requesting that you buy them a hula hoop, you can thank Amanda Panda.  On Tuesday morning Amanda Panda and the Hula Hoop Circus inspired and entertained our students and staff at our first school-wide assembly in over two years!  It was wonderful to have everyone together in our theatre!

Our PAC have been busy this week wrapping up our Purdy’s Fundraiser, arranging our Me ‘N’ Ed’s Fundraiser, and organizing our students’ Hot Dog Hot Lunch.  We are so appreciative of all the hard work that our PAC have been doing behind the scenes in order to provide extras for our students!  We would warmly welcome and encourage you to attend our next PAC meeting on Tuesday, April 12 at 9:00am.

Have a good weekend!

Susanna Eppich, Principal

CONSULTATION ON PROPOSED 2022 SCHOOL FOOD GUIDELINES

The Ministry of Health continues to seek feedback on the proposed 2022 School Food Guidelines. The Guidelines were last updated in 2013 and are being revised to align with the 2019 Canada’s Food Guide. The proposed Guidelines reflect current national and provincial nutrition recommendations and address implementation challenges with the 2013 version. Please visit Education Sector Consultation on Proposed 2022 B.C. School Food Guidelines to learn more and provide your feedback.

DAILY HEALTH CHECK AND WHAT TO DO WHEN SICK

A friendly reminder to our students and visitors to complete a daily health check prior to boarding a bus or entering a school or District site such as the School Board Office. To help support families in doing their part to keep everyone safe, please review the Daily Health Check and What to Do When Sick guide here. This contains a list of COVID-19 symptoms and guidance on what to do if you become ill. As always, the District is encouraging everyone to continue practice proper handwashing and staying home when sick.
