Blacklock Blast – December 5

December 5, 2019

Christmas is alive and well at Blacklock!  This Monday morning, staff and students entered the school to see the spectacular rendition of the Polar Express on our walls!  The beautifully decorated Christmas tree and the sparkling lights, along with the animated photographs of the staff, have brought so much joy and Christmas spirit to our school!  The Christmas excitement continued with the setup of our annual Christmas Store.  Santa’s elves, under the leadership of Ms. Kat, managed to sell and wrap hundreds of gifts for family members of our students.  Through everyone’s combined efforts, we raised $1,537.85, which will provide some needy families in our school community with a Christmas hamper.  Many thanks to all who made this possible!

There are still many lost and found items along the walls near the Gym.  When you’re picking up or dropping off, please take some time to look through the clothes to see if any of these items belong to your child.  Items that are not claimed by Friday, December 13 will be donated to charity.

Remember………a new Blacklock Bedtime Story will be posted on:  Youtube: The Mischievous Librarian every Thursday night at 6:00pm.  Be sure to check it out!  Tonight’s story is coming to you from Mrs. Anderson.  If you haven’t watched previous episodes, they can be found there also.

See below for a link to support home learning over the holidays.  Here, you will find many great activities and ideas to encourage your child to continue their learning during the holiday period.  We encourage you to check out the link, as we don’t want our students to lose any gains they have made in the last few months.   Click here —> Home Learning Over the Holidays

Have a great weekend!
