Blacklock Blast – December 8

December 8, 2017

The Christmas Store was a great success again this year, raising $1,600, which will go towards supporting needy families in our school community.  Thank you to everyone for making this event so successful!  You’re all greatly appreciated!

Two other Christmas fundraisers that will directly impact our school were:

The Sock Drive, which was organized by Elizabeth & Elliott Hay.  Please note that tomorrow is the final day to donate new, adult socks for this drive.

At the Craft Fair last Saturday, Teya Kugler sold her amazing wares and donated the profits of $101.80 to support the upcoming Blacklock Special Needs Christmas Party.

Along with all the great K-12 schools in the Langley School District you may not know there is also a multi-generational high-school for students from 16-60! For more than 25 years Langley Education Centre (LEC) has helped thousands of school-aged and adult students to graduate, to upgrade their high-school courses and to improve their skills and confidence. Over the last couple of years LEC has also expanded their options for adults to take Foundations courses in English Literacy, Mathematics, Social Studies and Computer Literacy – and all of them are FREE for BC residents.

Registration for LEC’s Winter Session is currently open and classes run from January to April. Beyond that, LEC also offers face-to-face and online self-paced classes. Check out their website at lecss.com for more information and find out how you can take advantage of the free opportunities available to you, your family and your friends.

Have a great weekend!
