The mystery began Monday, January 22…..the Blacklock Library presents ‘Clue’! What happened to Ms. Nobody? A new clue will be revealed once every day on the bulletin board outside the office, students will try to solve the mystery, and the big reveal will happen before the end of February. As part of the Clue Mystery Game, the Library is offering a special draw. If you read a mystery book (Picture Book – KGN-Gr.2; Chapter Book – Gr. 3-5) you will get a Clue Ticket. Each ticket is put into a draw for a $25 gift certificate at the April Scholastic Book Fair. See the Library for more details.
The Nebulae pod went to Grouse Mountain for a Snowshoe Field Trip on Tuesday. Thank you to the staff and parents who supported this event. The students were great ambassadors for Blacklock and we are all so proud of their excellent behaviour.
We had lots of fun on Space Day! Thank you to all who participated and we look forward to our next School Spirit Day, which will take place on February 14, where students will wear pink, red, or white.
Kindergarten Registration for September 2018 is well underway! If you have a younger sibling that will be starting school this Fall, please come by the office to complete registration and secure your child’s spot in Kindergarten. You will need to bring your child’s birth certificate and care card number, as well as proof of the parent’s Canadian citizenship.
We would like to remind our families that, in order to limit the spread of sickness in our school, we ask that if your child has fever, diarrhoea, or vomiting, that you keep your child home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours. We appreciate your help in keeping our school healthy!
Nature’s Fare Markets has partnered with our school to help us raise funds. They will donate a percentage of all sales made by families from our school at their store. So, if you shop at Nature’s Fare Markets, please help us out by dropping off your receipts at the office.

February 1 – Hot Lunch Orders are due by the end of the day for the Feb. 9 Hot Lunch Day
February 2 – Treat Day – $1.00 each (Limit of one per student)
February 6 – PAC Meeting at 9:00am. All are welcome to attend.
February 7 – Collaboration Day – Students will be dismissed at 1:30pm. Please make arrangements
to have your child picked up by 1:30pm, as there will be no supervision after that time.
February 9 – Hot Dog Hot Lunch Day
– Hot Lunch orders are due by the end of the day for the Feb. 19 Hot Lunch Day
February 12 – Family Day – School Not In Session
February 13, 14, & 15 – Talent show auditions take place (sign up for a time slot in the front foyer)
February 14 – Red/Pink/White School Spirit Day – dress up in these colours for Valentines Day
February 19 – Winter Wellness Aboriginal Day
– Subway Hot Lunch Day
February 23 – Professional Development Day – School Not In Session
February 26 – Report Card Preparation Day – Students will be dismissed at 10:45am. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up by 10:45am, as there will be no supervision after that time.
