January 30, 2020
Our week began with an outstanding performance by Axe Capoeira. The students were inspired to become involved in this beautiful art form. Yes, it’s hard work!….Yes, it’s intense!….but the hope is that our students are willing to stretch themselves both physically and mentally as they prepare for the upcoming performance on Friday, February 7, which promises to be one where we can demonstrate what risk-taking and hard work can achieve.

The KM Club Winter Run 2020 took place on Wednesday, January 29. All students who participated will receive a snowflake; if your child was absent on that day, there will be an alternate make up run. Winter Run 2020
A new Blacklock Bedtime Story will be posted on: Youtube: The Mischievous Librarian every Thursday night at 6:00pm. Be sure to check it out! If you haven’t watched previous episodes, they can be found there also.

Have a great weekend!

SCHOOL CASH ONLINE & FIELD TRIPS
Here are the Items available for purchase on School Cash Online:
Grouse Mountain – Divisions 1, 2, 3, & 4 – Deadline: January 31
Snap Tunes – Divisions 5, 6, & 7 – Deadline: January 24
Axe Capoeira Performance & Workshops – School Wide – Deadline: January 31
“M Is For Music” – Grade 2s and 3s – Deadline: February 12 – Volunteer Deadline: January 30
School Cash Online is now the main form of communication for all future field trips. This means that information about any upcoming field trips for your child will be entered as an Item in School Cash Online and we will no longer be sending home paper copies of these notices. You will receive an e-mail advising you that there is a new Item available for purchase. You will then need to click/follow the link that will take you to School Cash Online, where you will login and see the items available for purchase for your child. Once you’ve clicked into the Item, you will see all the details and will be able to complete a permission form, if required, and be able to submit payment. This district wide process will be replacing the former one where we used to send home a notice with a permission form attached to it. Please be reminded that payment options online include credit card (will not accept a Visa Debit or Visa Gift Card) or e-cheque (works with any bank account, not only a chequing one). If you need information about registering an account on School Cash Online, you can click here –> SCO Registration Info. All you need to register is our School Board Name (SD#35), our School Name (Blacklock Fine Arts), your child’s name, birth date, and student/pupil number, which can be found on your Family Portal account on MyEdBC.
