This week, the Blacklock staff were treated to an appreciation BBQ lunch hosted by our PAC. The food was delicious and the beautiful plants that we each received will be a lasting memory of this special day. A big thank you to all of you!
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Teya K. on taking 3rd place in the Blackout Poetry Contest at the Surrey Children’s International Festival 2018. You can check out her work at the Poet’s Zone on the Surrey Children’s Festival website in the Winning Selection May 24. We are so proud of you Teya.
Mrs. Hillier is looking for a volunteer to take care of the classroom guinea pigs for the month of August. If you think you can help out in this way, please e-mail her at chillier@sd35.bc.ca or talk to her in person.

City of Langley Library would like to let you know about this year’s Summer Reading Club. The theme is Motion Commotion. There is something for everyone at the library this summer – preschoolers, kids, teens, and adults – and it’s absolutely free!

Students aged 10, 11, and 12 are invited to participate in the 2018 Langley RCMP Junior Cadet Camp. This three day camp will be held at the Langley Event Centre on July 10, 11, and 12. If you are interested in having your child participate, please come to the office to complete an application form. These are due by 3:00pm Wednesday, June 6.
