Dear Blacklock Families,
Welcome to the last Blacklock Blast of the 2021-22 school year! The past week has been filled with lots of excitement, both inside and outside of our classrooms. Our violin students performed beautifully at the Langley Community Music School and we are so proud of all of their accomplishments and want to sincerely thank Mr. Peter and Ms. Andrea for their hard work and dedication to music excellence!
Our Grade 5 Leaving Ceremony provided an opportunity to congratulate our Grade 5s, showcase their speeches, hear their choir performance, and send them on their way to Middle School. This wonderful group of young people have built lasting friendships and created many memories during their years at Blacklock and we wish them every success as they start their journey at HD Stafford Middle School!
At this time, I would like to bid a fond farewell and a huge thank you to Mrs. Deb Jarvis, Miss Niki McKave, Mrs. Yvonne Chen, and Mrs. Inderjit Kahlon. We would like to thank them sincerely for all of their hard work in inspiring their students to be the best they can be! You will be missed and we hope to see you back in our halls at Blacklock soon!
Mrs. Sabina Weber will be embarking on an exciting new adventure. As much as we will miss her in the Office, we know that all of her hard work, love, and dedication to our school community will never be forgotten. Part of me hopes that this adventure leads her back to us, but if it doesn’t, we all wish Mrs. Weber and her beautiful family every one of life’s greatest blessings. We love you Mrs. Weber!
Tomorrow morning at 9:30am, Blacklock Fine Arts Elementary will be participating in a Rainbow Parade through our neighbourhood to celebrate everyone’s uniqueness and to bring joy and colour to those around us. Please have your children wear bright colours.
Also tomorrow, shortly before the end of the day, we will have a brief assembly, showcasing the artistic talents of our students. We invite all parents to join us and will be opening the back doors to our Gym at 2:15pm for this purpose.
If you’d still like to use the Edupac service to buy your school supplies for next year, you can go online to edupac.ca to do so; select city and school, enter ‘3503’ as the Password, and choose the student’s grade. The students’ final day is this Wednesday, June 29, with a dismissal time of 10:47am. School will reopen for students on Tuesday, September 6th for a shortened day, 11:30am to 1:00pm.
