Blacklock Blast – May 18, 2022

May 18, 2022

The Blacklock Readathon was an outstanding success!  A big thank you to Mrs. Hillier, Miss Dobbie, Mr. & Mrs. Huang, Mrs. MacLean, the staff, and parents for supporting the Blacklock Readathon last week!  A total of $3,801 was raised to buy books for our Classroom Libraries!  This afternoon we announced the lucky divisional and class winners.  Our school met the goal of raising at least $1,000, so in the next couple weeks the students will vote on what silly thing I have to do for a day!  Last year I had to dress up like a baby!  Be nice to me!  Every class raised at least $100; therefore, one student from each class will be throwing a pie in Mr. Thiessen’s face at an upcoming assembly.  Be on the lookout for Mr. Huang being dressed up funny, as Division 1 & 11 read the most minutes and get to choose what he wears for a day.

Last night was an important PAC Meeting.  I am so appreciative of all of the hard work of our current PAC and would like to thank outgoing President Erin Colivas, Vice-President Cindy Haley, Secretary Dori Pandyra, Health & Safety Coordinator Mireille Melen, and wish them all the best!  Please read below for more important PAC information.

If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please remember to let us know either by phone 604-530-3188 or by e-mail at BFAAttendanceVoicemail@sd35.bc.ca

Reminder that Friday is Pro-D Day and Monday is Victoria Day Statutory Holiday.  Wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend!  See you Tuesday.
