Congratulations to our Nebulae Pod and everyone involved on their successful production of their pod show ‘Living Poetry’. One of the reviews we received said “The journey the students must have taken learning about the different poets and the elements within poetry will stay with them forever. I was moved to tears twice! They did such an amazing job teaching us about poetry’s rhythm, rhyme and other various elements. They taught us wonderful details about each poet.”
A big thank you to our Blacklock community for supporting our Environment club plant sale this week. Funds raised will go toward more garden projects. Our vegetables garden is being tended with care as students grow their leadership skills by independently following our weeding and watering schedule throughout the school week. We dream of purple cabbages and bright orange pumpkins to inspire fall artwork, and creative cooking!
This week Mrs. Royer’s Kindergarten class said goodbye to the chicks by having a ‘chick party’. The students had fun playing with the chicks one final time in the afternoon. They have now found their permanent home with the chickens from last year and are very happy there!
Edupac order forms for September’s school supplies went home this week. This is an opportunity for you to get all your school supplies shopping done early and in one place! The supplies will be delivered to your child’s classroom before the end of June. If you want to participate in this handy service, please have your order forms returned to the school by Friday, May 25. Extra order forms are available at the Office. This week you should have received a permission form regarding an upcoming opportunity for your child to receive three group tennis lessons during their regular PE time. The cost to participate is $7.00 and payment must be made and permission forms returned to your child’s teacher by Friday June 1. We strongly encourage you to pay via School Cash Online.
