May 2, 2019
Congratulations to everyone involved in the Phoenix Pod Show ‘Mother Earth vs. Humanity – The Trial’! You deserve a standing ovation for creating such an educational and entertaining show! Many people have commented that they believe that this is the best production ever seen at Blacklock. Looking forward to seeing what you produce next year!
A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Huang and Mrs. MacLean for putting on the Scholastic Bookfair this week! Stay tuned to find out how much money was raised to buy books for our Library.
A big reminder that tomorrow is Pro-D Day and there will be no school for students. See you all on Monday, May 6……it will be our Class Group and School-wide Panoramic Photo Day. Remember to dress appropriately and bring your best smile! Also, Thursday, May 9, will be early dismissal at 1:30pm for Collaboration Day. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up at 1:30pm, as there is no supervision after that time.
This is an important reminder for all Grade 4 and 5 students, that a letter and permission form went home recently inviting you to attend the free I.D.E.A. Summit. Please note that the times have changed and students will be leaving Blacklock at 11:45am and returning at approximately 1:15pm. Please get your permission forms in ASAP.
MESSAGES FROM THE PAC
On Tuesday, May 7, at 9:00am the PAC will hold elections for the next school year. Please take a moment to nominate anyone that you think would be great at holding one of the executive positions. There will be nomination forms printed and available on the PAC board. Nominations are due back by 9:00am on May 6 and all individuals who are nominated will be contacted later that day to see if they’re willing to let their name stand. Voting will take place on May 7.
Please note that the White Spot Hot Lunch Day has changed from Friday, May 10 to Thursday, May 9.
Purdy’s chocolate bars ($2 each) are still for sale in the office…..please support us in our efforts to raise funds for our school! Next week information will be coming home to parents of Grade 4/5 students to sign up for a shift to sell the chocolate bars outside a local grocery store. Please be reminded that proceeds from this fundraiser go directly towards the Grade 4/5 Victoria Field Trip.
Please support our PAC in their fundraising efforts!
