Blacklock Blast – November 27

November 27, 2020

Last week we wrapped up our Blacklock Read-A-Thon and we’re excited to report that $6,253 were raised and that a combined total of 1,205 hours of reading took place!  Way to go Blacklock!  Here are the top fundraisers:  4th Place – Sebastian K. raised $185, tied for 3rd place – Cooper T. & Bennett T. both at $186.50, 2nd Place – Mateo S. raised $290, and 1st Place – Elliot Hay raised $322.  The class that raised the most money was Division 3, Mrs. Hillier’s class, with $1,105.10.  Thanks to everyone who donated money and made this event a success!

Mrs. Huang, Mrs. Hillier, Mrs. MacLean, along with all of the staff are humbled by the generosity of the Blacklock Community in supporting our Wonderland Read-A-Thon 2020. Please enjoy a special thank you video to show our appreciation for the donations raised for the library learning commons:

Our Purdy’s chocolate bars fundraiser for our Christmas Hamper program is getting closer to winding down as our supplies dwindle.  Bars cost $2.00 each.  If you would like your child to be able to purchase one of these, please send some money to school with them on Tuesday or Thursday so that they can take part.

Here are the current House standings:

Mome Raths – 2,483; White Rabbits – 2,226; Cheshire Cats – 2,588; and Deck of Cards – 2,675.

Have a good weekend!
