This week, students received a T-Shirt in their House colour. We had a wonderful assembly honoring the four artists who created the logo for each House. The next three Mondays will provide an opportunity for students and staff to earn points for their House by simply wearing their House shirt to school. We encourage all of our students to take good care of their shirt, as they will be worn through a variety of activities this year, culminating in Sports Day.
This week your child brought home information about next week’s Christmas Store. Please take some time to read through the instructions so that it is a successful event for your child. Three quick reminders: send a sturdy cloth bag, send money in a Ziploc back with your child’s name on it, and label the provided gift tags with the names of each person your child will buy for. Parents, you too have a chance to shop at the Christmas Store on Wednesday afternoon from 2:45pm – 3:30pm.
One of our classes had a very unique opportunity today to meet Ginger and Rosy, two miniature donkeys from ‘Small Wonders’, who provide therapy and educational opportunities to hospitals, schools, senior’s homes, etc.

Some of you may have noticed what our Kindergarten children are calling ‘the Office Alien’; however, it is a Tower Garden that we have planted with lettuce, kale, swiss chard, bok choy, cucumbers, etc. We received this due to the generous donation of the Langley School District Foundation in partnership with Rotary. Our students and staff are excited to watch these plants develop and to partake in the harvest that we expect to see over the next few months. Many thanks to LSDF & Rotary!

Once again, we have laid out all the lost and found items along the walls near the Gym. Please take some time to look through the following photos (or in person) to see if any of these items belong to your child. Items that are not claimed by December 13 will be donated to charity.

Remember………a new Blacklock Bedtime Story will be posted on: Youtube: The Mischievous Librarian every Thursday night at 6:00pm. Be sure to check it out! If you haven’t watched previous episodes, they can be found there also.
Have a great weekend!

CHRISTMAS
We would appreciate any donations for our Christmas Store, which will be running December 3 & 4. This initiative serves a dual purpose: offering children the opportunity to buy a gift for their family members at a reasonable price as well as using all funds raised through this endeavour to provide some needy families in our school community with a Christmas hamper. Volunteers are always welcome and so are the much needed gifts to make this a success. Please watch for information coming home soon. Our Christmas Concert will take place on December 19 at 6:00pm and all are welcome to attend! Our annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa will take place on Friday, December 20, commencing at 9:00am. Volunteers are also needed to help with the many tasks involved. Please let the office know if you can help by volunteering at any of these events.
