Good afternoon everyone! We are looking forward to celebrating Halloween with your children tomorrow. This is a reminder that any edible treats brought in for Halloween cannot be homemade, but must be commercially packaged and sealed. If you are wondering about sending a small gift in lieu of an edible treat, these are acceptable. Thank you also for sending your child in age-appropriate Halloween costumes that do not include weapons, gore, and/or scary masks.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in our PAC’s Community Values Book Fundraiser. If you haven’t already returned the demo book, please return it tomorrow to avoid being charged for it.
Our In-School Christmas Hamper Fundraiser is off to a great start! The funds raised through Purdy’s chocolate bar sales go to support Blacklock Families that require a little assistance to ensure they have a happy Christmas season. We will be selling Purdy’s chocolate for $2.00 each every Tuesday and Friday in the classrooms and before/after school at the Office. If you would like your child to purchase a chocolate, please send them with the money on those days. The selection includes milk chocolate smileys, milk chocolate bars, and dark chocolate bars. Unfortunately, there is no white chocolate available this year. Thank you for supporting our school community.
Please continue doing the Daily Health Check with your child and keep them home if they have any symptoms. As per Public Health, students who develop any symptoms (cough, fever/chills, loss of sense of smell/taste, difficulty breathing, sore throat, loss of appetite, extreme fatigue/tiredness, headache, body ache, nausea, diarrhoea) need to be closely monitored and testing is recommended. You must stay at home until you receive the test results. Following these guidelines helps to keep our community safe.

COVID-19 IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Many of you have been receiving phone calls to pick up your sick child because they were sent to school when they should have stayed home. Our District’s procedure is for all students to complete a daily health check at home prior to entering school and/or boarding a District bus. The Ministry of Education’s Daily Health Check poster has been updated to reflect new federal regulations regarding international travel. The symptoms listed remain the same. You can find the updated print version here. The updated version is being translated into multiple languages, which will be posted to the Ministry’s COVID-19 Safe Schools website here. Families can also continue to use the Ministry’s mobile app or online version here. Please remember to advise the office if your child will be late or staying home for any reason. Any visitor who enters the building must wear a mask, hand sanitize, and complete the sign in log at the Office.
